G-Town Ice
« on: Nov 22, 2013, 07:58 PM »
I watched Georgetown Lake freeze over a couple days ago on the MDT road camera and I was thinking about fishing it on Sunday if there is enough ice.  Anyone been out on the lake and know how much ice there is?  Thanks!

I'm going to fish it within the next week. You should be good to go, just bring an axe and test constantly.

My buddy who lives up there said it iced over Wednesday night. These cold mornings will definitely help it build up. I think the weather forecast is calling for mid to upper 40's for daytime highs Sunday thru Wednesday. So, those that are going to venture up there, be very careful, good luck to ya & keep us posted. Take care all...............

I have heard a few brave people have been out fishing.  Staying close to shore though. They have been seen Dentons, Stewart Mill & at the pump house, so I am told.

If you don't have to far to drive, I'd just head up there. You won't find a ton of ice, but you will find fishable ice.

Fished comers today. Five inches of solid ice. Did see a kid go thru the ice at the pump house. Fished 17 fow and did fairly well from 7:30 till 10:30. Most if the fish were 6 feet deep.

Me and a friend fished Sunnyside today. Man was it nice to finally get on the ice again! My buddy caught a 3 pound Brookie today. Beautiful fish! Ice was solid and safe. 4 to 5 inches. Can't wait to hit it again! Good luck to you all
