Let me add my thanks also this seems to be a common problem. There is a thread in the New Hampshire community in it I suggest setting a day for I.S. members in each state /Provence to meet at different lakes and clean up after the slobs. We may even be able to arrange for trash pickup by local town sanitation departments. Sort of like the adopt a highway program. A few years back RGfixit started a thread called Take The Pledge asking members to pickup after themselves and others. I'm asking everyone who reads my post to search for RG's thread and take the pledge lets show the general public we are not all self centered slobs who only care about ourselves.

sorry but this problem will never go away , the best we can do is tell people it takes some accesses away from us and teach our children to be respectfull of nature , and to all that might listen , beyond that , well just look at the road sides of our states many have all kinds of junk , in the mean time we will just go on picking up after them , to do our part , earth day has been going on forever , and they advertise it on the tv ,the papers , and radio

Thanks for helping keep some home waters clean man.
Ice wanderer and another buddy of mine had both ran into a bunch of trash on Paradox last year.
The 3 of you guys made a big impact I'm sure! I took a bag full out on my one trip there last year. It doesn't always seem like it makes a big difference individually. Just a few of us together  might have saved us some access and from looking like a bunch of heathens.
Well done dude!

One thing I've noticed is that if you pick up trash in front of other fisherman, it usually motivates them to do the same.  This spring bullhead fishing I was just watching guys fish, not fishing, and picked up a plastic bag and started picking up all the garbage that the bullhead guys (notorious for being very messy) had been leaving.  The bank on conesus inlet was absolutely covered in trash that day.  I picked up a few bags and came back to fish a few days later and the bank was spotless.  I think fisherman on average are good people, theres just a few guys out there that are just scumbags and tend to ruin it for everybody.
This sport takes a certain amount of character in a man that we all should respect and take pride in.

The thinner the ice, the more anxious is everyone to see whether it will bear.
