Sandbar???
« on: Sep 23, 2013, 12:12 PM »
Im seeing alot of past and pretty recent posts about the "sandbar"? What/where is this located? I see on google maps that there is a sandbar state park, is that just a general area thats called the sandbar? Im from massachusetts and this year my buddies chose malletts bay for our annual ice fishing trip and I just want to see why the sandbar is so prominent on the shanty message boards.

Sandbar State park is the spot.  People fish both sides of route 2, but most fishing for pike fish the southside.

Haha, I know, I know.  I don't divulge much information on spots, but that is one that ain't much of a secret.  If he got up here and went to the baitshop and asked where to go, they would probably send him there anyways.

good luck indeed
right now the sandbar is really low
saw 3 guys walking out to their duck blinds at least 300-400 yards away from shore  water never got above their knees
the state park side isn't any better
I walked at least a half mile before it got to my waist
