Mini me and the neighbors Kid

We decided to take the neighbors kid on his very first ice fishing experience. Don't know if it was beginners luck or what, but the kid took to a jig pole like he was born with it in his hands and tallied up some nice fish..several slim darts, yellows, and a few small bass.
Mini me however didn't care to jig, but chased flags all morning landing this nice large mouth. I was surprised to find how thick the ice still was....18"

When I asked him to rate his first experience on a 1-10 scale he gave it an 8, I said only an 8..? He said ya, I would have given it a 10, but you made me bring my own lunch..

It was a fun day. I found out last night that the neighbors kid had spent the last two days out of school with a sun burn to his face. Had some blisters and was a bit swollen, kinda felt sorry for him. I didn't even think of sunscreen.
Lesson learned ...sunscreen for the kiddos.  I seem him tonite at lacrosse practice and asked him if he would go again.." Ya Ina heartbeat he says, but next time I'll have sunscreen"

Nice fresh powder snow on the ice, where the heck were you??

All Ive got is mud in my yard now LOL oh wait, I still have 4ft snow banks BLOCKING my boat in, grrrrrrr haha

it's a small pond near Wakefield, we got on the ice around 8 and the snow depth was 6" by the time we left it had packed down to almost 3"
