What can I say? It was one of those weeks and months with non-stop projects at work, etc and enough said - I woke up hard tired, a bit grumpy, and definitely wanting to arrive @ the res. and be left alone/go solo today. Had a chatty soul walk up just past mid-afternoon and he did not know when to zip the lip and walk away... I'm normally open to striking up a conversation, but honestly after telling "that guy" I wanted to stick to fishing(not talking) he kept yakking and yakking and yakking. I took alternate measures and got my serenity back on track!
8x fish brought up into the hole, 7x made it topside, and unfortunately the largest of them all --> 1x broke off That 6lb P-Line flouro was not enough for the muscle this scrapper had left after 15 mins of line give and line retrieve. There was definitely joy in the journey experienced; knowing it was likely my last time out really brought about a true nostalgic feeling about the day and about the tussle experienced with this particular fighter! Before I forget, Happy St. Patrick's day to my fellow Irishmen and all fishermen alike!
First one to step up to the plate... dinner plate that is!!! 18" 2lbs 13oz
Sweet little football - #1 of two under 16" both of the under 16 fish could pass for twins!
The pleasure is ALL MINE! Where have YOU been all my life :-)
Last big fish of the day 19.5 inches - was already @ my limit for over 16" so back she went
Coming off the ice and greeted by this ominous sign of things that are and are to come
My parting views of South Park; wish that was the daily view
This is most likely my last time out this season and I'm more than grateful it ended with a beautiful day, mostly quiet and to myself, and a basket of fish! I love Colorado's abundant bounty!
