Well thanks for the info. My buddy and I hit the lake for the first time today. Landed 4 and missed a couple more but like others have said the fish wouldn't chase much. Lethargic for sure.
Seemed the bottom was constantly moving, flickering and occasionally separating on the flasher in 100 fow which I am guessing was mainly smelt. The most active fish for us seemed to be where the smelt wasn't.
Biggest was around 4 lbs, others around 2.

Hey there East Coast Boy, I will pass on tomorrow and go for Wed morning. There is supposed to be some weather coming in tomorrow morning (freezing rain/snow). I will be there about 0600, leaving by 0730 for work. At the most we will get together by the weekend.
Cheers.

I was out again today and all i can say is NO MORE SKUNK!!! I went 1 for 2 and finally got some video with the new GoPro. Here is a clip showing the one that got away and the one iced and then sent back down the hole. I will be back out tomorrow morning trying to keep that skunk off.

I was out there from 8-10:30 and went 1 for 1. Had to keep this one. He inhaled it and it ripped his gills all up and now the inside of of my popup looks like a crime scene lol . As i was trying to get the hook out he did some really good shakes and sprayed blood ALL OVER the walls of the hut! It was a fun morning though, i marked lots of fish.

Well, today started off a little rough... A buddy and I decided to try for perch near Ceder Island in Dead Mans Bay,, Beside Fort Henry. Well the ice is thick enough to drive on, and never marked a single fish.
So we decided to head to Loughborough for a laker... Got out there around 11 and setup in 90fow, and 2min later WHAM what a hit.. bent my little rod right over, THEN it was gone... I lost 3 more that way.. over the next 4 hours... my buddy didn't even get a bite.lol
We marked tons of trout, most stayed close to bottem, and a few follwed the bait up to 75fow before going back down.
Skunk Day
Will be out tomorrow, 0630-1200....
ohh and i was shocked to see 3 full size pickup trucks on the ice, 2 beside us, and one way out in 120fow...

Today on the lake was a bust... From 12 till 430. only marked 5 or 6 lakers in 70fow.
On an intresting note, the fish didn't come from the bottem up, when looking on the finder, this time they were in 60fow, but no bites...
maybe next weekend

I was out on Sunday from 0730 till 1230 and went 1 for 1. I had 4-5 hits but they were all striking short so i would definitly recommend using stingers if you areheading out. The trout that i iced was just an average size at 2 1/2 - 3 lbs. he was quite aggressive though, he hit the bait 3 times onthe way up and i slowed down the retrieve just slightly and he inhaled it the fourth time. In the end it turned out to be a great day on the ice.

Went out today from 11 till 4, and caught nothing,
Started out in 87fow, marked 5 fish, Moved out to 104fow and marked alot more, with only one bite, then moved back to 56fow and only marked two fish in the last hour...
The ice upto 80fow was still 12+inches, but when i cut through at 104fow it was only 8 inches.
Please all be aware, and be safe out there.
Hoping to get out again tomorow morning, really early to maxi my fishing time.

WOW, that's amazing how the ice is thinning so quick! i was out maybe 7-8 days ago and the ice was 13" in 106 FOW. I think i may only go out there one more time this year anyways. I better make it soon if i wanna fish the deep stuff.
