Where's everyone headed this weekend? I think I may try mac or the little lake I really don't want to drive up to island or frye and find out you can't get on the ice.

I wouldn't trust too many lakes in this part of the state for ice fishing right now. Merritt on the Boardman is safe and that is where I will be heading tomorrow. From the posts on here sounds like Box Butte on the west end is ok and maybe parts of Smith south of Rushville.

My son, son-in-law and I went to the little lake by Big Mac with a boat last Saturday. The boat ramps were iced in so we lowered the boat down a bank to the water. The north 1/2 was open water along with the south side, the middle was all iced up yet.

A cold windy day and we didn't have much luck at all. Lot of people out fishing from the shore but only saw one fish caught. Several people said the trout had been hitting but that wasn't the day for it.
