Met a couple buddies out at Summit tonight. Surprised as we were the only ones attempting to experience the night bite. Fished along NW shore in 10fow. Was getting hit but believe baitfish and gills were responsible. Even tried 12fow and saw fish on the flasher- but not much action on my spring bobber today.  Had no problem entering the ice but some edgers were thin.  Once on, ice was 6-7 inches thick.  Hopefully buy next weekend the ice will have thickened and I can go to my 20ft spot.  I was aleast able to try the new shelter. Just a couple non fish picks as I couldn't get the poles going.

Ice fishing is a subculture, one wouldn't understand until they experienced it...

Thanks for posting this!  I am not ready to pack it up yet.  Great to know where the ice still is.  I may have to head that way this weekend.

Interesting. I wouldn't have expected the lake to have that much ice on it still. I may have to try and get up there this weekend after the snow myself. Thanks for the update.
