use alumanum (sp?) for the wall frame and make 6'4" tall or just shorter then the garage door hight to put it inside.

i have no experience with making a shanty but just go to the lakes and ask people with shantys for advice . hope this helps  :)

Don't allow any aluminum that you might use to contact the steel frame, as you will have a severe case of galvanic corrosion, where the aluminum will have to be changed out in a very short time!!

I was thinking of building one . I did a search for RV siding on the net and it came up with a lot of places you can order siding material

Well I talked to a RV dealer and he came up with a cost of around $900 to cover my size of house 6'x 15' in rv siding and in colored sheets of aluminum the price was about the same. I did however find out that tin to cover my shack would be about $200 for the whole thing so im gonna go with green tin. I figured it would be a little bit heavier but it would be stronger and more durable.

Bought framing wood for shack and spent around $330 incuding screws but i still need to get 30 bolts to bolt it to the frame.

I also finished paining the trailer so ill post pics somtime soon.

Make sure your windows are low enough to see out when sitting, I used that plastic/fiberglass wavy stuff for the roof, white not clear, lets in tons of light. I used 2x2's for the frame and 3/8" plywood for the walls.
Its real sturdy. I also used sheets (3 ply) of durock for behind the wood stove.

I am currently getting done building a similar house. I used some grooved wood siding. It is made for sheds and other stuff like that, comes in 4*8 sheets. Its good stuff but tin would be lighter. it cost around 18 bucks a sheet. For the inside walls i used 1/4 inch lauan plywood, looks really good.
