How is the ice in Northern Indiana?

How is the ice?! if good ice ill go out, if only ice around the edges Ill break the ice with the boat to get out where i know i can catch fish!

Its getting to the point where u need to find out for yourself, ive been on the last 2 nites but don't feel comfortable telling anyone else its safe, very few guys on, because it being sketchy, take your spud n b safe

That is a perfect answer for these ice conditions.  I predict there will be boats in the water this weekend and guys on the ice. (northern IN)

i fished two lakes today. spudded every step of the way. hard and slick this morning soft and wet from 11 on. most spots were 4- 4.5 of clear ice some only 2.5. Get out and check it yourself. be carefull and tread lightly

With the warm weather and wind this week the edges took a beating. Spud each step to make sure...It has been changing fast when it does... like 4-6in to 1-2 inches in a single step!!!!
I to will only say you have to check yourself. It has changed daily in some areas. Safe now not so much later!!!!
Having heard of 5 guys going in since last sat I would say BE CAREFUL is a slight understatement!!!!!!!!!
I did notice some open water that wasnt there in several channels and bays on Wawasee today!!!!
With that have fun.. Think I will wait a couple weeks and go in the boat!!  Traditionally the ice is gone by the second week of march and dont see why this year would be any different!!!!

I've used the I've rods out of the boat before. Get over a school of nice hills our crappie and have fun. Especially at night.
