Ice fishing with guns
« on: Jan 06, 2013, 09:34 AM »
I feel there is no finer way to kill time waiting for geese to fly over the treeline than doing some jigging

This

Plus this

Equals this

My buddy shot his first goose yesterday and got his first walleye through the ice so he was pretty happy. figures now that duck is long closed there are ducks everywhere but at least there are a TON of geese around in northern Illinois.

I have done that too, guy next to me thought i was nuts would never get a goose while fishing.  Then couple groups flew over and he was wishing he had his gun with him too but his was in the truck lol.  Agree That is a great way to wait for some geese.

Pretty awesome! Fish & Feathers

Probably keeps people from fishing too close to you also. You might be on to something there.

well we do get some strange looks  ;D Nice thing is that the geese want the open water and although the ice is good to the edge it looks scary and that alone tends to keep people away. that said we wont set up in a group with the shotguns.
