COLD 1.5 hours on SEBAGO-updated pics 1/28/13
« on: Jan 27, 2013, 02:39 PM »

A Friend and I hit Sebago this morning. The wind was 15-20 M.P.H. out of the N.W. BURR >:(. My buddy got 2 Lakers and I lost 1 about half way up to the hole :o but that is fishing and at least I got to feel the power of a Laker. We stayed about 1.5 hours till the wind just made it miserable so we called it quiets.  Any way we will be back at it bright and early tomorrow with better conditions,5-10 S-S.W. winds ;D

Also here are some pics from a couple weeks ago fishing with MG, Bee, & Bill.B on one of our crappie day fishing trips ;)

May your hooks sets drive deep ;D

I hope they use common sense, but as the saying goes with some people (YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID) ;) It will be awhile before I have sled or Wheeler out on Lake. But rest assured I will be walking out every chance I get now!, doing this :icefish: :icefish:

I was on sebago this morning with the same result - 2 average sized togue. It started out fine, but got windy fast. Still a beautiful day on clear black ice - felt like walking on water!

It is cool, catching them and seeing them 10-15 ft under the ice while their blowing air bubbles. The ice magnifies the fish so they look like giants till you get them too the hole. I think it will make another 1-2 inches of ice tonight. As long as its just a little rain WENS and not a down pour, the Lake is on its way to locking up for the winter

Neither, I just took the pics with my rods. My buddy caught them on a small crappie sized jig maybe 1/16 ounce. Just proves they will hit big and small when they are hungry.

Good luck tomorrow

You're all set now, looks like the crappie will be safe for a while. ;D

After the warm-up this coming week, someone will get wet. ::)

I think the Lakers are in trouble, after your teaching lessons for CRAPPIE,  going light,  2lb test, and light jigs ;D Dave caught both Lakers on 2 Lb test today ;) Took him awhile to get both fish up, good fun too watch. As for the Crappies they ain't safe Brother ;)

There were people parking cars on the ice/shore line today off Raymond Beach.  They were kite sailing (ice boats) and skating everywhere today.  Many people were ice fishing throughout Jordans Bay.  I saw people fishing up past Mineral Springs towards the Basin. The ice is very clear.

I drove by the launch and people had set shantys out already nothing outside a hundred yards of shore, they got nervous is my guess and rightfully so. Walking? Yes. Driving equiptment is still sketchy. Heard variance of 2-4 inches of black ice.

Nice fish!
I would also like to see another M&G on Sebago. I was able to meet some of you a couple years ago and I would love to do it again.
I just do not have many oppurtunities to ice fish and enjoy my few times out each year with experienced ones like you all.
Thanks for sharing,
Steve

Another good day on Sebago

Winky's little brother, blind in one eye and 24 inches long, He went back to really big ;D

Nice hard black ice, again what a rush seeing them come up from 20 ft under the ice fighting all the way

20 incher my Son caught then got called to work :( Well at least he got to catch one before the railroad called ;D

My son's friend with a 25 incher, back down the hole it went for another day

As for the totals for the day, 1 17 inches, 4 fish between 20-23 inches, 3 fish over 23 inches, 1- 24,1- 25, & the big one of the day 27-28 inches didn't get to measure him put him back right away with the help of a friend trying to help- lifted fish by hand with line at hole and broke, but we all got a nice look at him and my friend soaked his arm going for the save

All in all great day with friends and my boy ;D
