Garmin and lakemaster
« on: Jan 16, 2013, 07:57 PM »
Bought lakemaster michigan cd to load on my handheld garmin gps. Could not see the contour lines on the screen. Has anyone had this problem?

The tech said they all use the same color scheme..brown on blue **censored**? ???

When i contacted garmin they said they on longer support the lakemaster charts. The copyright is 2009. How does that work.

Does anyone know of any mapping that will show up on a handheld gps?

are you sure the lake in question is big enough to be on the gps lakes map with depth contors? some lake are to small to be supported.  like wild wing lake on this photo has no contours ware kent does to the right. any ways look it up they got a list on garmin.com of the lake like said know before you buy. any ways best of luck... because this is a smaller lake it only goes to 5 foot makings soem lake like wild wing dont got the depth contour markings. any ways best of luck hope this info helps.

Actually ican see the contours on the computer screen and under perfect conditions and a magic angle. It is just very, very hard to see. I've tried brightness settings.

exactly on mine i got to turn the marine colors on it make it black as the back ground color for the blue contour lines. this is all under so from ware ever you are you got to go this way like this ---> the main menu ---> set up ---> map set up --->marine set up---> switch on marine colors --->exit to the map view. is how mine goes.  it like a sub folder of the main set up stuff to turn it on all i got to do is check a box. your gps maybe more complicated that why i was looking for model number....
