does it really matter what type of jig you use for Crappie?

No, if you find them and they're feeding they'll hit just about anything.

My biggest crappie ever was 16 1/4" caught on the smallest Genz Worm they make with a single spike.

Yes, I could not catch a crappie to save my butt yesterday until I found the right profile and jig orientation. I had sniffers come in but wouldn't hit. Once I found the right jig they started pounding it.

that is why it is best to have 2 or 3 rods set up with a few different styles and colors of jigs.
I also found that 1/2 shiners were working better then spikes the other day also.  ;)
large or small profile changes are the tickets sometimes.  ;)

Take time and look at Northland Lure Co.  Scud Bug, Bro Bug, Mud Bug, Bro's Bloodworm and Slug Bug.  We been out 5 times and gotten over 40lbs of fillets.  Hope it helps.

not really as long as it's a custom jigs and spins demon in glow green or pink.  ;)

I prefer a small silver pimple with waxies or maggots, but I think if they're feeding it really doesn't matter what you use as long as you put it in front of them. Did you know that bibbet means "bug" in Canadian French. Just saying.

Where Im at an orange Caty lightning #8 or#6 loaded with spikes/mousies. Dead sticks and T/U,s with shiners seem to catchem better when they are being finicky

Ditto what Perchpounder said.  Glow demon tipped with a 1" gulp minnow is deadly!

Last time out for crappie it was a red glow frosty spoon with a waxie. Time before that they didn't even look at that combo. They wanted small gillpills with a couple spikes or plastic tail. They can be picky eaters.

I like to use anywhere from size 10-14 jigs on panfish and use spikes ( maggots) or wax worms.
