I was through there yesterday, drove out onto Iroquois and fished a few hrs. Fair amount of snow up there now after the weekend. They got about 6 inches of new snow. Watched 2 guys try get out onto Iroquois with Ford 1/2 tons and they didn't go very far even trying to follow my tracks. Unless you have some really good ground clearance you probably won't go too far, it's tough going now.

Nope. Drove by it though and had same amount of snow as Iroquois. They are only a few km's apart so snow conditions are usually the same on both lakes

Went to shell today tried a few different spots fished 10-33 fow and ended up with to many small pike to count and six burbot. Getting onto the lake is only possible from the bay any more snow it will be sled only.

Yea seems like there is pike everywhere also noticing the average size pike is way down from last year have you noticed that? Haven't fished for eyes there in a while this time of year there I target burbot.

Pike size is down drastically and I think its just gonna get worse...Summer pressure is unreal on that little lake.

there is barely any pressure up there. blackstrap has pressure. i fish up there once in a while and there is never anyone around fishing it amazes me that i can be out fishing for 4 or 5 hours and only see 2 or 3 other boats out fishing. was up there ice fishing a few weeks ago and there was 4 people out on the ice in shacks thats it. i cruised around on the snomobile and talked to people couldnt believe how little that place is fished

The pressure on shell is nothing compared to blackstrap but shell does still have quit a bit of pressure for such a small lake . The winter isn't bad but in the summer it can get pretty bad

You just said you fish there every once in a while...Try being up there every weekend in summer with 30 or 40 other boats, 10 years ago there was 8-10. Have Had a cabin up there for 15 years and the fish keep getting smaller and smaller, we hardly kept any fish to eat this summer because of it, think we had 2 frys (2-3 fish) in the 8 or 9 weekends we were up there.

When the lake is only 3/4 x 1 1/2 miles its not large enough to suppress that amount of pressure

Sometimes there is even more boats then that. I too have ezed up on the fish fries because of how things are out there. Been going up there for many years also and it amazing how the fish population and average size has gone down.

My inlaws live on te lake i fish there once in a while in the winter but we go up there regularily in te summer and i see lots of boats but mostly watersports very few and far between are actually fishing and that lake is quite big in my opinion. There quite a bit of water there. I dont target pike because i dont care to and i never have a problem catching nice eyes in the summer everytime im out. Father in law got a 17 lb pike there as well last summer and we can cast off their boat dock and catch 5lb pike.
