Two of our small lakes were stocked with trout yesterday evening. My fishing partner called to me to see if the water is open enough to fish. Both lakes were completely frozen with no open water, but the ice is only 1/2"-1" thick.Someone or several people had already been there checking the ice thickness by throwing rocks and sticks out onto the ice.I am worried that this morning some knucklehead will try his luck on the ice.The fact that we never have much of an ice season magnifies the odds they will try it.As I stood on my porch at 6:00 this morn,I heard a siren from the lakes direction, sure hope I'm wrong.
