I saw a post by pikeking from a few years ago for Icebug studded boots, just wondering if anyone has tried them?

A really cheap way to stud your boots is to use 1/8 or 1/4 inch hexhead screws.  Use a driver to screw into the LUGS of your boots.  They provide unreal traction on bare ice.  A few years back, I was jumping out of the trailer on Lake Erie we used to haul the gear out, while my buddies could barely get off the quad without slipping.  The downside is if you use your boots for work or other dutys, you might have to remove the screws.  I keep mine in year round, but use caution when going in the gas station or baitshop.  Tile floors and studded boots will drop you on your arse!! ;)

That's what did years ago when I worked for the lumber mill,  hex head screws in my boots worked awesome out in the log yard when all the snow packed into ice  but will let you fall on your arse if you walk on tile.   Worked also really well for ice fishing.

Also remember the studs put nice scratches in wood and vinyl flooring, so take off boots be entering your house if you have this type of floor cover. Your spouse ,girlfriend ,mom  will be happy and so will you.

Don't put hex screws in black mickeys. They will absorb water over time and ruin the boot. Learned the hard way
