Have either of you guys ever come across the perch on the north end.
Friend of mine claims that is where he catches em but I have never seen nor spoken to anyone who targets the perch.

I've never caught or even seen perch on the camera at crawling valley. Pardon my ignorance but I fail to see what the big deal is with perch. I was raised to believe they're a garbage fish and more of a nuisance than anything. Kind of like chain pickerel.

If you can find the jumbo perch (10-13 inch) you have about the best eating fish around.
Most the perch around here are dinky little critters 6to 8 inch not worth messin with. I have fished CV since it held Gerrard Rainbow and have never caught a perch but keep hearing about some guys who have.

Havent caught them but have seen them on the camera on the west side of the lake. We have never targetted them but have seen them sniffing around our pike and walleye baits several times.

Thanks for the info.
Usually perch are in the 25-30FOW range, how deep if you remember was it where you saw the perch. I usually fish that west side to either keep out of the wind or targeting bigger pike by the reeds and weedline.

Actually just off and almost right in the weeds in 16-20 ft. Saw them several times near a couple of the west islands half way up while searching pike and burbs. Just weren't trying for them and only had bait as big as the perch. LOL.
