For those of you that (like me) don't have a smart phone or a tablet, you might go to NE Game & Parks lake mapping site:

http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/Fishing/programs/lakemapping/lakemapping.asp

That's what I've used for some lakes (it doesn't have all lakes in the system).

What I'm wondering is if there is a better set of maps out there in print, and if so how much $$$ and where?

Just checked out the FishingHotspots site - looks like they only have Harlan County Reservoir in print for all of Nebraska.  I'm not even sure HC ever fully froze over last winter...  looks like a good site for more lake-heavy states like Minnesota and Wisconsin, though.

Hot Spots notified us a couple of years ago the Merritt map was going out of press.  We sold lots of them for $11.49 but apparently we were about the only store selling them.  We completed our own map last fall which was more accurate, contained lots more information, 10 ft. contour intervals vs. 20 ft. and is waterproof and tear resistant.  The new map is sold at the Trading Post for $8.75 or we will mail you a copy including S&H for $10.

If you buy the Navionics for your PC can you print maps off to take with you?

Approx how many nebraksa lakes are on this app?   Can you mark spot on your smart phone of current locations/hot spots.

I was wondering the same thing?? A lot of these apps and maps don't have many NE lakes on it. The fishinghotspots.com one didn't seem to have any of them. I doubt that they would have many small lakes in SE Nebraska. I can use the lake maps that they have on the G&P sites but those aren't that detailed and it would be a lot easier if I could have all of the maps on my phone and mark trees and such on the app.

I was able to get a original Hot Spots Merritt Map and it is a GREAT Map!  Very Durable and helps you find areas that may pay off.

Wanahoo is on the Game & Parks lake mapping site.  Not saying they're the best maps and there are no pre-marked fishing spots on them, but the depth contours are there.
