I was thinking
« on: Mar 07, 2005, 02:11 PM »
Yesterday  i was fishing a lake that had at least 200 guys on it.I would be willing to bet that i was probably the only one there blessed with the knowledge of iceshanty.com's existence.was thinking about making up some signs to put up at local boat ramps so that others can share in this wonderful site.Im sure the local gfp wont mind if i use professional looking signs.whats everyones opinion on this?

Stunper, I kinda think the opposite of you. I fish a lake that get's fished hard and there is maybe 8 or 10 people that post everything on the thread. I find it hard to believe that a few more guy's don't know about us. I think they just try to keep thing's to themselves. That's just my opinion.

I agree with carpcatcher. A friend and I both found this website and we both spent the same amount of time surfing and trying to catch up on tips and techniques. I post and he does not. i guess you could say he is the strong silent type.

saying that, I also agree with Stumper, we should get the word out. Its nice to have a place you can go to share a passion for a sport with others that share that passion. I bought myself an iceshanty cap and toque that I wear on the ice. it lets other members know, and sparks the interest of others

The reason i say this is,i am one of a small handfull on here from south dakota.it would be nice to meet more locals that love the sport.alot of times you get the cold shoulder trying to chat with alot of these guys on the ice about different lakes and such.I fished every day first ice to last safe ice ,most days by myself, would be nice to add a few more fishing buddies to the call list.

I don't know if I'd go as far as putting signs on store windows, but I like the shanty idea. I also like the clothing idea.

I met a member this year by his hat (IS). Now we talk alot and got to fish together. After I saw his hat I bought one so maybe other people would see it.I am wondering what billditrite's house would look like if it were a lake front property . I think this is a great sight and hope it stays this way for a long time
