Saskatchewan Ice predictions for 2012/2013
« on: Sep 11, 2012, 09:29 AM »
So folks, Sept is upon us and that means the below zero temps are soon to follow, so when do we walk on, and drive on I am crossing my fingers on an early freeze with little snow so we can get some good ice, here are my thoughts:

North: Walk-Mid Nov, Drive Mid Dec
North East: Walk-Late Nov, Drive Mid Dec
North West: Walk-Late Nov, Drive Late Dec
Central: Walk Late Nov, Drive Early Jan
South: Walk Early Dec, Drive Early Jan

Also depends on the body of water.  Buffalo pound will have safe ice before last mountain lake.
Still counting.....

True enough, just as I am sure St. Brieux will have ice before Lake Lenore even though they are the same lake. I just hope the freeze comes early and freezes hard. The sooner I can drive on the sooner I can get my shack out.
