« on: Mar 21, 2012, 10:23 AM »
hey guys, I'm looking to get an entry level g p s unit. however, I don't know much about them, and I want to make sure I get 1 that I can update with lake maps and what not. from what I gathered there are sd cards that holds lake maps? any suggestions would be helpful, though I still plan to research. thanks in advance guys

Go in the electronic section and you'll find all the info you can handle...good luck :)

I would check out the Garmins, they have a website and can compare all their units.  I have a Garmin Summit and love it.  There's no SD card in it but I got a CD for the computer with maps with it.  You can get CDs from them with lakes on it.

Consider anything that you can update software and maps.... don't go the cheap route because a few years from now you'll want something that will best suit your needs then.
