Going Into Retirement
« on: Mar 15, 2012, 09:52 AM »
Just when you thought you were getting rid of me on here, oh how you were mistaken. I am taking about my pack basket, it was only 10 years old, but when you fish as much and as hard as I have, some things just don't last as long as they should. It has treated me well, but now it's time to send it off to the fishing gods and order my new Loring. You will be missed ol buddy of a basket, but at least your straps shall live on.

A more fitting subject would be: "Funeral for a Friend" I think
I've got the itch... No, not that one. It's the good kind.
It's pronounced "fay-len" (the x's are silent)

A fine tribute!  Would have been a shame to have something like that end up in a trash heap with the dirty diapers and  kitty litter.

that is awesome.  only thing that would make it better would be a set of jack traps in the basket while she burned ;D

Don't tarnish the memorial boys, this is a sad day indeed.

The only thing that might have been a more fitting farewell would have been setting it to drift ablaze on a chunk of ice on the day your favorite lake went ice-out. GOD BLESS

You have my sympathies.  I hope that it brings you solace to know that you have inspired me.  I intend to follow your lead and cremate the snowmobile that I ruined last year.  It should be an interesting funeral pyre.

My condolences.

you should have caught a big pike, tied the basket to it and released the whole mess back down!  You would know the baskets last days would be in service to slowly killing a pike.

My condolences on your loss of a dear friend. I'm sure he's looking down from that big ice pond in the sky with a smile and a bunch of rubber bands.

Im sorry for your loss. Im famous for saying, "I think I can get one more year out of it." But in your case, I think it was better to not let it suffer.

Maybe DAG's, the best bait & tackle store in the whole state of Maine will donate one to the banquet and I could be lucky enough to win it.

Hint Hint?  ??? ;D
