Syracuse Ice Fishing Show
« on: Mar 10, 2012, 09:10 PM »
I just seen that there was an Annual Ice Fishing show in Syracuse in years past, the most recent I could find was the 3rd in 2010.  Do they still have this?  I was never at one and it looks really cool and a fun day for the family.

We used to have a specific ice fishing show  but the promoter has given up on syracuse........ a new promoter did put on sportsman show this winter that had most of the same ice retailers. Thorne bros....etc.  /it was a good time for a day even though put together real quick. It was at the state fair grounds so easy access and parking. :) Hope they keep it up.
just not enough time    <*)((><     >*)(((((((((><

It will be back this coming December...a lot of the Midwest vendors were afraid the economy would not make it worth their while to lug all that stuff out and get stuck with inventory to haul back!!!

I live near Scranton Pennsylvania and don't know where are the state fair grounds.  How do you get there, I'd be coming up I-81 or I-84 depending on where they are.

I hope they have an ice-fishing show again. We went to no.2&3 did'nt know about the first one. Not only did we spend a lot of money we got to watch the seminars learned some tips & tricks. A lot of big named fisherman were there to answer questions too. As far as them having to bring a lot of inventory back home there were several things we wanted to get that they were out of,and we went early on Saturday. We did get a catalog from Thorn Bros. where we could get the stuff from. It was a 3hr.drive for us but well worth it. My husband was sold on the Jiffy Pro-4 auger, any questions he had about it got answered by them on the spot. Alot of fun!!

Syracuse ice show that was held at the On Center was a lot of fun, my best buy was a rear mounted power auger/gear carrier that mounts on the back of a snowmobile.  Not having a welder, I had contemplated for quite a while on how to make one.  Low and behold, a vendor from Michigan makes them and was there the last year of the show. I bought one, it's the cat's meow!  Was fun just to walk around and check out the vendors and ice fishing gizmos.  Seminars were good too.  I missed this year's show at the fairgrounds because I didn't hear about it.

Leave it better than you found it
