Pathfinder/alcova waleyes??
« on: Feb 05, 2012, 01:20 AM »
What does is take to catch them. I drilled alot of holes at alcova  and couldnt find a singe one.

My theory was the trout swoop in and take the bait first but just a guess of mine. What do you think? Or what do you know that can help me and maybe some others?

This is the age ole question Chris! many do not have the answer and have spent thousands trying to figure it out. Just remember, Alcova's GOT THE biggest average walleye in the rocky mountain region according to G&F studies and sampling. They are there, but gotta jig them up at the right place at the right time. Its just a persistance thingy. PATHFINDER HAS NONE SO QUIT SERCHING! Until the ice is gone babby gone. lol

The walleye in both lakes migrate up the rivers leaving the trout in the lake. Yeah, that has gotta be it. Unless there are no walleye until GF stocks them every spring. Ensuring they will all be caught before it ices over. Any other theories!

That was last Saturday with MattR.  I got 3 yesterday before the noise of augers scared them away.

Hopefully I can get out Saturday again and get some before too many people show up.  :)
