Strikemaster cutting
« on: Jan 30, 2012, 10:22 AM »
Hey Guys, so I've got a question about the way my auger cuts.  I've got a strikemaster lazer mag.  So the last couple times I've been out and start popping holes the first half dozen holes or so it cuts great, like butter.  But from there it doesn't cut as good, have to start putting a significant amount of down pressure on it just to cut.  I thought the blades might have been getting iced up but we kept checking them this last time and its not that.  I also thought maybe the blades got whacked or something to knock the angle off but its been like this the last 2 or 3 times we've been out and it always starts off cutting really well.  So I'm kinda at a loss, any thoughts?

Put cooking spray on the blades of the auger. The ends might just barely freeze up so its not as sharp but u cant see the ice on it. The cooking spray makes them not freeze up.

Try tightening the blades back up.Maybe there loose. It doesn't take much.I have the same auger. The only time it didn't cut the blades were bent from setting it on the ice to hard. You can't see this from looking at it.
