That is my guess, Tiger is a cross of Brook and Browns, Splake cross of laker and brookie, looks more like Splake to me...

???  Tigers typically have squarish tail of a brown.  That looks more like a laker with the heavy notched v-tail.  Very dark stained splake or just a funky looking laker.   Either way, it looks cool.

i have never seen a tiger trout with a forked tail like that i have gotten them from palmer pond for years before they stopped stocking them .browns and brook trout dont have the deep fork in the tail nor do tigers

I think the first one is just a laker with distinctive markings, the tail is deeply forked like a laker; the tigers I've seen had very slight forks. Not sure if tiger trout are stocked any more in NY, Warren County where I live discontinued them.

Here's a laker with similar markings from Lake George caught last year:

I was typing while you guys posted the same thing. ;)

Nice fish bud!!!!! But they are all lakers. I have caught a lot out of Piseco and Indian that look just like that. Tigers have square tails and the head is more like a brown trout

You know your right !! I have a few pics of some tigers from when they stocked them in West Canada Creek years ago.... I cant post them as they are actualy photo not saved on PC from before the digital days.... ANYWAY.... Im not sure what that is now.... Im comparing that top photo to the ones I have and that fish looks nothing like the Tiger Trout Pics I have.. It has some similar worm like markings but the coloring is way off and it has a forked tail....

any NUKE plants nearby where ya caught it  LOL...J/K

Probably just a weird enomoly maybe like an albino of sorts...

If their are any splake in that lake that would be me best guess, and to take it a step further,  A VERY small % of splake will reproduce... It very well could be a result of  Splake/Splake natural reproduction ....

who knows,,, Still COOL LOOKING FISH

Didnt realize their were actually hybrids called tiger trout when i first posted. Just the first thing i thought of when it came thru the hole. Im gonna say laker being thats what the lake is known for. Not splake.

Paul, check out the pics on this site , the colors and patterns are pretty amazing. A lot of yellow in them, which is probably what threw people off about your fish.

Nice!  If anyone ever makes it to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, they have tigers in the tank there.  They are beautiful looking.  They also have many other species of fish found in the Adirondacks there.  Great place for the kids.  Awesome fish by the way.

I caught this Tiger a few years ago in the Fall. The tail is more square like that of a Brown Trout.
