Birch point
« on: Jan 27, 2012, 08:25 PM »
Wednesday a big pressure ridge showed up, guys had trouble getting off.  Thursday morning Leonard told us if we followed the shoreline on the left we could get around it.  We got to the point, drove straight out first, to see what it looked like. We could not see a big ridge, but none of us liked the looks of the ice there ( about 1.5 kms out), so we turned around and fished at Moose Lake Thursday and Friday instead.
2 guys on sled went to Birch point after us on Thurs, and found open water. They parked the sled, jumped the water, and walked the rest of the way to the shacks. Pretty ballsy, lol. They caught 2 walleye at last light.  They fished Moose Lake Friday to  ;D. Friday a jeep apparently made it across somewhere, have not heard if they made it off.
The sledders warned us our tires might break through in spots to, there are some layers in places I guess. We might be fraidy cats, but we are live fraidy cats, lol.

Slip that little un between a hot dog bun!
