The ice is good but I would keep towards the shore to avoid the possible bubblers that often surface in line with the southern point on the bay. There is a pressure crack running from Blockhouse Point towards the iron bridge on Carry Bay that I haven't dared to cross with my machine. Unfortunately, there is no public access from the motel this year. It has to do with insurance and only guests at the motel can access the lake from there according to the owner. The wheelers have been getting on at Birdland.

Is that why people have been parking on route 2 and crossing the field? Seems like you would get the riot act read to you for that, ive seen guys practiclly end up in fist fights over parking up on Hibbard bay before...

There's a huge state park parking lot at Hibbard Bay.  Why are people getting all huffy over that?

Cause they're probably parking over by Camp Abnaki(?).Closer walk than the state park, but limited parking.

Exactly, they were parked by abnaki on someones front lawn, but in all honesty, so were we (well down on the corner, not someones front lawn) it was our first time fishing their and we didn't know about the knight point state park! now we obviously park at the state park, but i guess it just as easily could have been us getting the riot act read to us.

Yes all those people who used to get on at the motel have cut across the field. OK now that there isn't any snow but as soon as there are snow banks on the road and the field gets covered it will get hard for them to access the bay. All the parking on Pauquette Ln is private unfortunately. Access to Hibbard bay is best via Knight Point State Park. There is actually a path which cuts across the woods from the edge of the parking lot or people can walk along the ice from the beach area. There are a few people who have permission to park in front of the houses on Abnaki Rd but that is private and if someone wants to park there they should ask a landowner.
