Heading to Champlain Friday with the crew for the annual trip! Usually go in March but due to scheduling had to go early this year. can't wait to get into some pike, hoping the weather is at least cooperative! Were looking for our first 15lber. Got one last year that was 13 (not in Champlain though) and one of the guys coming with us has not ice fished before so maybe we'll even have the beginners luck going for us. We have a few places to try for our day saturday and sunday and we have to go home monday. We were thinking about 1/2 day on sandbar monday- never fished it. Has the pike bite been ok there this year?
