smokepole/ icerods

seems like the same for both. I take the smokepole out an see no deer. I really dont want another one. I drive by ponds looking for ice and is none. Oh  why is the winter so fikle?

Smokepole tomorrow for me. 1 more tag to fill, no fish in the freezer, just have to fill it with venison for now.....hopefully on the ice by early next week....

Be carryin smokepole next Thursday through Saturday then to the ice on Sunday(hopefully).  pendin smokepole luck...mebbie hit the ice a lil earlier! :tipup:

Welp...looks like the ole smokepole will get more of a workout this coming week wrapping up flintlock season vs the jiggin rod!! Oh well....still beats going to work!! lol

Smokepole for sure tomorrow, just worked up a new load. 90 Gr. of FFg black powder, followed by (6) 1/4 oz. Swedish pimples. I knew I would find some use for those ice jigs..............

My 54 Cal Brad Emig built PA Mountain Rifle will be rigged with 85 grains 2fg Swiss and a lead .535 lead sinker!!  lol

Haven't found a deer to refuse this rig yet ice or no ice!!  lol

Hunting again tomorrow, still have 1 last tag. Holding out for that late season buck, that might change tomorrow. Times a wastin, we'll be on the ice soon.......

nice doe to chock up to the smoke pole still tring to find one to flash the pan off too. starting to find ponds to build ice hopefully next weekend ill be getting the rods out ;D

Glad to see there are some deer left in York County, in the areas we hunted in central and western Pa their on the brink of extinction.

Doe was bagged in 3B Sullivan County. Things are pretty bad in some areas though fer sure..

Funny you should say, just commented this morning how I am seeing way more deer where I hunt (NEPA) this year as to the last few years. Passed on a few more doe today. But if I get a chance for one on Sat. It's " Lights Out"............

Yepper...i passed(least in my estimation w/o actually shooting ha, ha, ha) on tons & tons of deer too. Id take one Sat if ya get a chance.......be a loooonnnnggg wait til next deer season. ;)
