Honeoye Bait & Tackle Will Be Open This Winter
« on: Dec 19, 2011, 11:08 AM »
Greetings

Honeoye Bait and Tackle is open this winter.  While the bait shop is for sale and was apparently sold, the deal fell through and they will be open for the
foreseeable future.  They have ordered ice fishing equipment for the winter and they already have some in.  In fact, they may have all of it in by now
because I attempted to do this one week ago it took that long before my membership was approved.

Hours of operation for the ice fishing season have yet to be determined.  For now, hours are 8-4.  When first ice hits, hours will change.

If you have any questions please call 585-229-2266.

Thanks.

Yea, same as always it appears. If you head South at the intersection of 20A and CR 37 it's there on the right side of the road. That intersection has a signal light (there is a restaurant on the NE corner of it) and is before you get into the Town of Honeoye when coming from the West on 20A.    Cya....

Yes indeed....great for bait prices! I hear CNY Bait and Tackle at the marina will have the BEST bait prices in town? Just a rumor...definitely worth checking out!!  Not to mention HOT coffee and a freezer full of microwavable's..for those late afternoon munchies as you're coming off of the ice!!  ;) ;)

Has Honeoye Bait and tackle changed hands? Last time I bought bait I got 12 fatheads for a ridiculous price. Haven't been back in 3 years....maybe 5.

I sure hope the price of bait goes down, but I'm a skeptic.  I only bought bait at Honeoye bait & tackle when I had to, high priced and the owner was as surly as hell.  I stopped at the new place by Trident Marine two weeks ago while I was getting some straight gasoline (90 octane) for my auger. The bait shop was not open, but I peeked in through the window.  Its very small inside.  The white board behind the counter had bait prices written on it.  I was able to make out $9.50 /doz for pike bait. OUCH!!!

Bait shops pay for bait by the pound and big bait is hard to keep.
