"Twas the Night after Christmas,
And out on the Lake,
I saw Santa fishing
With mealworms for bait...
He jigged and he dead-stcked
With Kasties and such,
The fish just weren't biting
He wouldn't catch much...
When all of a sudden
His rod took a dip,
I couldn't believe it
A fish finally hit!...
He jerked the rod sharply
To deep set the jig,
I knew in a moment,
He tight-lined a PIG!...
He reeled and he pumped
I could hear the drag squeal,
A really big fish on
The chance for a meal!...
The line made big circles
Around the ice hole,
Ole Santa was smiling
Still pumping the pole...
But wouldn't you know it
The fight ended quick,
His line snapped quite sharpley,
No fish for St. Nick!...
A Perch or a Walleye,
A Pike or a Mac,
A Trout or a Muskie
Or some fish like that!...
I heard him exclaim
As he walked out of sight,
Good fishing for everyone
And to all a Good Night!"
