Seeing as the first one got closed.. Lets try and keep it civil this time guys.

Spent friday-sunday fishing on the mountain, terrible weather but an OK bite. We didnt catch a ton of fish but it seemed as though they were consistantly nice sizes, lots in the 2-4 pound range, a couple in the 5-7 range, one 8.5 and Kelly(eyecatcher00) lost the biggest eye of his life in the hole.. ouch.

The ice is not safe guys, there are places that a guy can walk on but it can change so much over night its rediculous. While there is up to 6 inches of ice in some places it is not great ice, in some places its saturated and rotten and water will fill your hole before you even drill all the way through. If you dont know the lake well I would give it a good couple weeks yet, too much can change overnight. A spot I was fishing comfortably two weeks ago is no longer safe even for walking, that happened in one night. Strong winds and warm weather are a recipe for disaster when it comes to making ice on a big lake.

Be safe out there guys.

Would this happen to be the bay north of alice? I was thinking of heading up there friday, but not too sure of the ice conditions.  We fished Saturday at Grandview on about four to five inches of pretty sketchy ice, and had to jump over about a foot or two of open water at the shore to get off the lake.  And, unfortuantely, I don't own a kayak.
Still counting.....
