Frabill Trekker 2 advice
« on: Dec 15, 2011, 10:51 AM »
i just got a used frabill trekker 2, its like brand new, would you guys recommend to take the seats out and bring a lighter seat with me to cut down on weight? and would you recommend to get the runner kit for it? i plan on pulling it by hand because the places i go i don't walk real far. so I'm just wondering how durable the sled is before holes will wear in the bottom..thanks

the sleds are very durable but the slides they make for the bottom of them make pulling much easier and does obviously save on the sled....I used to own one of these same houses....I pulled the seats out totally and replaced them with a couple extra boat seats I had laying around...made a big difference on the under sit of things as well as my back.....if I sit too long I get really sharp pains in my back but replacing the seats with the boat seats I can sit about all day with no problems what so ever.....one other thing I highly recommend is buying yourself a package of the Frabill coat hooks...they come in packs of 2 and work great to hang a lantern on and you still have an extra one for your coat.....
