Little Lake, Teal Lake.
« on: Nov 16, 2011, 02:16 PM »
These are the two lake I plan I hitting when the ice arrives. How have they been in the past? I'm talking about Little Lake in Gwinn, and Teal Lake In Negaunee. Any good suggestions for lakes in Marquette County?

To be honest i wouldnt waist your time hitting teal... Pretty much the dead sea... perch action is good at times.. I have seen some really nice fish taken out of there but its hit or miss... if your after walleye i wouldnt waist your time there thats just my option... Your better off hitting up the lakes in the gwinn area..

like berg said, i wouldnt waste your time with teal lake.  for a decent walleye lake youll have to head to lake independence or go south to little bay de noc.  you can run into a few at greenwood too.

Is Little Lake a good bet for bluegill, crappie, and perch?

Yes it is. We get alot of nice gills and crappie. I don't seem to have the nack for perch there. I stay closer o home for those. There is  guy in Negaunee that has fished Teal all his life. He catches awsome walleye and jumbo's there. But he knows the lake like the back of his hand. Steve

Thanks for the reply, Backwoodswalker.  Bluegills and sunnies are my favorite so I'll give Little Lake a try this season.

ive done good on big perch on little lake, down on the end where meal lake connects to little lake. you would need a bike or sled to get there from the boat launch tho, a new house got built where i used to go in at. east bass lake has some dandys too.

I used to know someone that had a camp on it. In the summer when the water is high enough you can drive a tin bottom under the bridge from little lake, Id probably just park along the road and walk on in the winter, i don't think its a private lake, but i could be wrong.
