Potanipo Pond, Brooline??
« on: Oct 08, 2011, 09:18 AM »
  ??? OK!  I'm supposed to go south to Hollis for Christmas with the kids.   I understand that Potanipo has OK warm water fishing.    I would take along the Vexilar jig rods if it would be worthwhile.  I hate to give up a whole long weekend without ice fishing.  Any advice would be helpful.  Crappie, blue gill and perch would be great!!

potanipo is cool...lots of bass, pickeral, etc...worth the trip if you are looking for action
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

Thanks Jibbs,   Now I don't have to dread a big family christmas weekend.   Sounds like I can even take a couple of grandchildren along!

I fish their town derby on that lake every year for the past 3. Lots of action for the kids. I went through 5 dozen shiners last time before noon.

Nothing big on size, but a lot of fun!

you should be fine with the kids if there is even ice by then. just don't be a statistic and use good judgment. i have some of your post so there  shouldn't be a problem there. good luck !!!!

  ???  Ok!  You fellows now way more about the Hollis area than I do!! :P   My son-in-law says that Silver Lake is just up the road from his house and he doesn't know anything about it??    Neither does NHF&G because they don't have any Silver Lake shown for Hollis??   Have any of you fished it??

My wife read your returns and now she wants me to spend every holiday fishing with the grand kids in Hollis.
So I have to find out where and what I am fishing for?? @)

  ;)  Thanks Surf!  That's the one I was looking for.  I may have to go fish it before ice just to find out what there is?   Gee!  You think there would be all kinds of fish info for a State Park lake ???
I'll let you know what I find.
