Strikemaster Strike-Lite Vs Jiffy Pro 4 Propane
« on: Jan 24, 2011, 06:58 AM »
After the tournament wound down yesterday, we had some time to play with a couple of new augers we brought with us from the shop. Both augers were brand new and assembled on the ice. Both augers drilled well all day. Temps started off below zero but slowly warmed up through the day. We did 3 runs of 5 holes through 13" of ice... When I finally left the ice, the Jiffy propane had drilled close to 100 holes on the original bottle and was still going.  ;)

Yes, they make a 10"... Thankfully, I'll never know how well they do at -40  :o  ;D
-10 is about as cold as it gets here in CT. We were close to that yesterday and had no issues...

I love my 8inch pro 4. The only down side is that it weighs about 38 pounds. Little heavy but quite and awesome

How do you refill them.  I usually spends days at a time on the ice and gas stations are hard to come by when your hours from civilization.

The new strikelite weighs 23 pounds.  The Jiffy is 38,  a 15 pound difference is huge.  The main reason my dad bought a strikelite.  You can cut a ton of holes with a tank of gas.  Quiet too.
