Tried for Whitefish in 80 to 120FOW of Herdmans Bay. Nothing doing. Set up for smelt by the Perm shanties....6 guys caught 7 smelt. Lowrance showed em there...they just had lockjaw. Worst Crystal trip ever. Fished out of the bridge on Big Glen, started in 46FOW and caught one Cisco, worked our way out to 60 FOW...nothing. Moved back in closer to where the locals were set up (18FOW)...only had two hours in that area and caught 4 nice perch, but the last one we caught just before sunset was the biggest perch ive ever seen. It was only 13", but it was like 6" from dorsal to belly....weighed at least 1.25 pounds....wish we would have just set up there in the first place, since we passed a guy that had a 14" on the ice....that thing looked like it was 2 pounds. The coolest thing was we were able to sight fish in 18FOW!!! Saw quite a few just swim by with no interest. Hope your in shape if your dragging.....brutal... .we were out 3/4 of a mile.
