  • Never Forget Them! All Gave Some but Some Gave ALL
Garmin CSX60
« on: Mar 06, 2011, 05:02 PM »
Is this unit easy to use for someone that does not know anything about hand helds?? I am thinking of buying one of these mainly for trying to find my way out of the woods, or possible get into the game of Geo Caching, and also trying to find my hot spots so I can return to them on the water or ice. Would this be a good first time unit for me to buy?? I usually catch on to the electronics after some trail and error but I am no rocket scientist

Personally I don't own a 60, but when I do get around buying a handheld GPS shortly here it will be 60csx.  I have used them on a regular basis and would recommend it.

Get it!! I have one and love it, it is also extremely easy to use. To get in, around, and out of the woods it is perfect because it has a high sensitivity receiver, and an electronic compas (which you will want to use to find waypoints with). I use my 60CSx to get out on the ice with my lake maps and my vex I can find that shelf with out a problem. I also use mine for geocaching which this unit is good for but does not have paperless geocaching which make it easier to find the cache but not necessary. Overall I think you would be very happy with this unit as your starter unit.

I bought one and love it. You will have to buy the garmin software but the lake charts are great. I downloaded the us topo maps recently and cant wait to use it for hunting. very nice gps  ;D
