Its a great portable if you are truley looking for a portable!  Packs down nice and thin & flat, nice molded bucket holders when dragging flat acrossed the ice.  I am able to load the sled right up with bucket of tip ups & jigs, full bait bucket, camp chairs, auger & cooler and it dragged fine with 1 guy, plenty of room for two guys.  Keeps surprisingly warm from the solar rays without a heater.  The plastic floor and be a little slick when on bare black ice so I screw in so anchors on the side of both doors and run a strap between achors under the doors acrossed the floor, you'll wanna do this also because the wind even with some gear and people in it, it will take off acrossed the ice like a kite.  Also I learned the hard way but you can learn from my mistake, you will get 4 light metal poles and 2 plastic braces that are used to brace the roof, easily snap in when you set up but I used to lay the 6 pieces on the inside floor and fold the whole thing up, the pipes fit fine packed inside but may pierce the vinyl windows it was a loss I just patched them up with clear tape but since have just stuck the braces in the bucket with my tip-ups!  All and all I'd give it 2 thumbs up!!!! Great for getting out deep easy!!

Owned one for awhile. Liked the portability. Very easy to drag, lift in and out of vehicle.Perfect for one person with gear. However a little tight for two, but still capable. What I didn't like was putting together the poles, disliked even less taking them back apart after a frigid day. They seemed to always stick. Putting the shack up in any wind was next to impossible for one man,but after much cussing it went up.Definitely need to anchor the thing to the ice, a friend and I were blown down Erie's Presque Isle Bay one year.My opinion is if you have the room to haul a flip over style go with that, the couple extra dollars is well worth the ease of use.

My wife and I fish out of one and love folds up easy takes about 2 minutes to set up or take down fits nice in the car. As for the poles sticking a touch of car wax will help that no oil that cold will affect use very little wax

My husband and I fished out of an S3000 for about 10 years and were mostly happy with it, but even that was a little crowded with 2 people and all our gear.

PROS
Folds up nice and flat, fits easily in SUV
Easy to set up/take down with 2 people. Best to have ends facing into the wind
Carpeted floor keeps you up out of the snow and ice
Side doors, you don't have to step over your holes to get in and out

CONS
Non breathable material, you do get dripped on occasionally
58" high. I'm only 5'4" and wouldn't be able to stand up in it
Ours did not hold all our gear, we still had to drag a jet sled for gear
Plows snow like a b!$@# in deep, fluffy snow
Flies like a kite on bare ice, even with people inside, lol
Can be challenging to set up with one person

If you're getting a great deal on a used one, I'd say go for it. But if you're paying full price for a new one, I personally think there are better options.

I set mine up all the time by myself, not a problem, if it is windy...anchor it before setting it up, if you build one of my sleds, it won't be a snow plow, it will pull like 5lbs behind ya, I put all my gear on top including power auger, and it still pulls nice and easy. If you don't build a sled, don't buy it, it will be a pain to pull around. This will be my 3rd season with my S3000 and am very pleased with it. For the price, it is a decent shanty. Just my experience. Smitty

I've had a DX4000 for 6 years...pulls easy on the pop-up skiis, roomy for two..quality zippers and sewing...never had one problem with it.  :)

i bought the 4000 last year. love it for 2 guys! drilled 3/8" holes in the corners for ice anchor screws and the company sent me 2 sets of extra poles and clips for putting rods on the sides. helps with the wind and also lets you hang things  out of the way. i have curtain hoops with clips for hanging extra fishin poles from the top bracepoles. adding side poles helps brace during the winds. shappell shipped them right out to me for reasonable $. its nice for all the extras of icefishing when 2 guys want to spend the day comfoetable and is still portable. a pain to move around though.
i have enjoyed alot of things in life, but none as much as ice fishing!
