Jack, your story mirrors the same as mine when I called about the Reflective strip peeling. Very poor customer service in my opinion.

I couldn't believe how Defensive they seemed & how unprofessional they were in handling my complaint. The man that said he was VP of Operations was beyond belief !!! He was more intent on telling me that he ripped his 2,000 suit in the pants than listening to me.. when I told him his analogy isn't relevent to my situation & had nothing to do with their product he bristled up & told me he didn't care about my problem either and it was MY problem... He also mentioned that things like zippers weren't covered under their warranty as well... Anyway, I told him I wouldn't be a repeat purchaser & I know he doesn't give a hoot But ,I would pass my experience with them on. He was quick to threaten me with legal action if I posted a negative... Well, The truth can't be considered slander so I told him I wasn't intimidated... I believe they should take constructive criticism & use that info to make a better product instead of beating down the messenger.
