I use a #6 gamagazu octopus hook and no weight. When you make a small enough  ball (say the size of a small marble) and put a few spikes or waxies on the hook as well, it sinks, but really slowly. When the trout picks it up, it feels pretty much no weight at all. PB is the best!

I have 4 different colors, orange, green, yellow, and chartreuse to see what one they are after. On my 5th tip up i use a worm. More often than not the worm gets one.

PB works great on recently stocked trout. Not so good on hold overs/naturals.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

I'm a chartreuse guy all the way. Have never used any other colors.

I found that power egg seem to sink a little better than a power dough ball, but a couple eggs and a piece of worm or meal worm a couple feet under the ice  or in water less then 10 feet for the bows there suckers for something colorful. plus with the worm u wont have to add weight.
