ice fishing summary - little bay de noc
« on: Mar 29, 2011, 06:38 PM »
I know more than a dozen guys who fish Little Bay de Noc pretty hard all winter. The consensus is that this season was brutal....probably less than one third the number of walleye and northerns caught compared to last year. Last year was a dropoff from the year before. The popular theories are that there is easier forage elsewhere or the Indian netting problem.

I fished lbdn pretty steady all winter to.. many very early trips down there, about 15... me and my buddys did really well on eyes and jumbo perch,  a few pike and whitefish also... it wasnt off the wall action, there were a few slow days...  but all and all we were doing quite well.. i do think there was alot more smelt this year that has somthing to do with slower season.. and of course the netting issue is still in the back of everybodys minds... hopfully next years better....
