Miners Bay
« on: Jan 03, 2011, 05:59 AM »
Just wanted to give a quick report for Miner's Bay on Gull lake. The shorelines as of the morning of the 1st were still in good shape. There was approx 7"-8" of mixed ice. Lots of huts out. 1 trout, and 5 or 6 herring. This was reported to me by a buddy. Always check the ice yourself. Looks like it will be good for next weekend, now that things have firmed up.

Thanks for the update.   I was thinking about heading up there this year for a weekender.  Do you know of anywhere to stay overnight near the bay??

Cheers.

Not too fmailiar with places to stay, but I'm sure there are some B&B's in the area. A little further north, around the Minden area, there are definitely places to stay, either rooms in the hotels or cottage rentals. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I am heading up there this weekend. I'll keep an eye and report back.
