Mount Ayr
« on: Dec 29, 2010, 07:13 PM »
I am working in Mount Ayr and I am missing my ten thousand lakes! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some spots around here any help would be great. I was on three mile the other night and did pretty good, but would like to find something closer to town, for afterwork quick trips! Has anyone fished loch ayr? Thanks in advance for any help!

Loch Ayr is probably not your best bet. 3 mile is good and so is 12 mile. Fogle Lake in Diagonal Iowa is ok. about a 15 mintue drive from mt ayr. Last couple of years they have been on the small size for panfish.  "The Marsh" located at the Mt Ayr Wildlife Unit is a good place for some nice gills. Go about 5-8 miles west of mt ayr on hwy 2 and you will see the wildlife signs on the highway. it will lead you south on a gravel road.  Slip Bluff county park locatedin Decatur can be good at times. its a hit or miss there. good luck
