From what I have read tonight yes they can, and they make what they call an S cable to help with this interferance....

Not enough ice or time... not necessarily in that order.

The S cable is not for interference rejection it is for reduced power out for fishing in shallow water. The S cable helps rid of overgain which pics up clutter in the water. The FL-18 has the "S" cable mode built in' the low power mode. The Vexilars have built in interference rejection. The the Fl-18 models (and the FL-8 as well I believe) you push the gain knob inwards, up to 10 times for 10 different modes of intefence rejection. You keep pressing it until the "spikes" dissapear. You can fish 2 Vexilars in the same ice house/shanty, possibly in the same ice hole if needed be!

Yes you can fish them next to one another we do it all the time. Once in a while you will have to hit the IR button on the fl8 for the interference to go away.

No but you can reduce the amout of interference with the patented regection button on every vexilar.   You can usually get the interference to just a little flash on your screen every once and a while.

My Marcum has a built in interference rejector/ignorer. How well it works....guess I'll find out this year.

Black Phoenix - Your going to be very happy with the interference rejection on the LX-3 in two years I have used it twice and only had to push the button once.  In my opinion the circuitry was better in my FL-8 than it was on my FL-18.  Is this the first flasher that you have owned?

I hope so Tim. YOu have had good luck with the Marcum I would guess right? I almost bought an  Ice machine (flasher/gps/lcd combo) but found a good deal on the LX-3 and after looking at the info on it I decided it was a good deal.

I've actually had quite a bit of problems with this.  Most notably in Ice Team Trap Attacks where EVERYONE has a Vexilar.  I'd say that on a given day, with three of us all use Vexilars, I'll have to screw with the Interference stuff about 25-30 times.  I've had it get bad enough where we shut one off.  IMO, the FL-8 with it's button is better at rejecting noise than the FL-18 in Low Power.

I have a Zercom Colorpoint and have fished within 3 feet of a Vex FL-8 and also FL-18, I never had an interference problem and neither did the Vexilars.

Could be a problem with mine, if noone else sees it.  I have one of the very first FL-18's to come out, back when the auto-zoom didn't work too well (would close up and only show you 3' instead of 6'), and had to have a firmware upgrade installed by Vexilar.  This could be something else that was cleared up during product development.
