Bait Tank
« on: Nov 06, 2010, 02:07 PM »
I have a question on bait tank water exchange rates??I'm trying to size a pump for my tank its  about 250 gallons in size. What should the water exchange rate be???

My next question is how much air to add to the tank???I can add enough air to make the tank boil if I want.

                             Thanks , John

This might save one of you some cash $$$.Instead of buying a pump i used my old boilers recirculation pump.It works the balls ,hardline with PVC on suction soft lined the discharge through a gravity filter.

It draws .71 amps pumps 23 gal min.I'm not sure if the water exchange will be enough I have a large air pump hooked up .Its still better than buying a little giant for a few bills,if it doesn't work just cost me time. The tank size is around 250 gals .I will be looking for a larger tank this summer,if I go that way I will have to spend some cash and splurge for the bigger pump. Its working so far??
