I have yet to have caught a fish with the lindy darters. I have it in the golden shiner colour, and my belief was that fish were very attracted to it, but for some reason did not commit. While out crappie fishing one time, I would pull out the darter, and the hole that was about 2 ft away from me would instantly start getting hits.

And over the weekend, I have viewed my darter with the vex and found that fish REALLY were attracted to this bait. Every time I jigged, it drew fish in, but once again, they are not committing to it.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

someone, somewhere, must have had success with this lure.  it would be great if they shared what was done to produce fish.
i'm still at zero catches with this lure, whereas the chubby has taken a bunch already.  i've tried different sizes and colors of the lindy, yet nothing.  i almost want to blame it on the slightly larger dimensions of the lindy.  the smallest size is still rather bulbous compared to the smallest salmo.

I think it will take a while to get use to it.  It took me a whole season of fishing a Chubby Darter with no success, but I still haven't given up on it.  As long as you're attracting fish to it, it's a good sign.  You just have to figure out what to do to get them to bite.  Figuring out how much to tip them with can change the lure action significantly.

It could take years to work it into your arsenal, I haven't got anything on mine yet either, BUT I'm not blowing the first hour of light on an experimental lure when fishing for wally's that's  just plain stupid, always go to lures at peak periods, then play with unknown stuff during mid day. That's why it's hard to get a read on new stuff, always working them into your schedule slowly during the worst bite... my 2 cents

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical when first using this lure after little luck with the chubby darter, but have had some great success with it. So far I have used it to catch walleye, perch and a lake trout. For me the best color has been the Redtail. I also am excited that they have expanded their color selection and have added a new bigger size as well. I found tipping the rear hook with the tail half of a minnow worked well for fish that didn't seem to want to commit. On a side note, last ice season I was fishing side by side against a orange and gold chubby darter while I used the Lindy Redtail darter. My fishing partner could draw them in, but four out of four times I caught the fish and he did not. That type of success gives me all the reason in the world to like this lure. I definitely will be getting more of these.
A day spent fishing with no fish is still better than any day at work!
