Fly the Team Iceshanty Flag! Iceshanty Proshop
Few years ago I fell through and lived to talk about it. Tryed pushing the limits on how much ice a 280 lb guy can stand on. 4 1/2" worked for a while until the high sun melted it down to 3". Then I fell in. Luckily the only thing I lost was a yak track cleat off my boot. Long cold walk back to the truck. [/quote WOW... Your a big guy,that will really make you think about whats safe ice. Glad you made it out and are still around. :thumbsup:Fish on my Brother.
about 30" in Alamuchy
Conditions are poor! As my friend ekozlo said musconetcong is a mess!. 4" on slush but, 9" of ice; hate to say it but I'm done for the year unless we get a very cold week javascript:void(0);
Checked the shoreline on Big Swartswood and could find some spots to get on but man that ice is a mess. Looks like I'll be in waders again this week though I'll be wearing a life jacket when I go out, at least until I've checked out the area I'm fishing. The good news is if the ice is still decent I've already cleared Sunday with the wife..."You know this is probably the last week I'll be able to ice fish." Not that she buys this but at least she understand my obsession.
